Ok, ok, ok.. It has been an information overload the last couple of weeks, and don’t get me wrong everyone here at Nor-lan is thrilled about all the new announcements from the guys back at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles North America (FCANA). But when does it end?! Somebody needs to have a defibrillator on stand by with all these never ending announcements. I’m afraid my heart can’t take much more excitement!
If you are not in the loop (which you should be if you follow our Social Media Pages & Blog.. & just for you, the links are conveniently below.) In recent news, Jeep announced a “beefed up” 2017 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Recon Edition. If you wished for an enhanced front axle, enhanced off-road rock rails, and perhaps heavy-duty cast differential covers? The 2017 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Recon Edition just answered that entire wish list with a big fat yes. The time has come if you’ve been on the fence about getting into a Jeep Wrangler. The Wrangler Rubicon Recon Edition comes with numerous cosmetic details that I know we don’t want you to miss out on!
I know when it comes to family life, running errands around town with a SUV full of screaming kids, makes for a hair pulling day. Yet fear no more, our prayers must have been answered. Let us introduce you to the “Muscle Car of SUV’s”. With 475-horsepower at your hands, say goodbye to a boring afternoon playing chauffeur with the kids, and say hello to the 2018 Dodge Durango SRT. The Dodge Durango SRT is powered by the 6.4L V8 Hemi Engine that is shared with it’s distant sibling The Dodge Challenger. Just like a muscle car, the all-wheel-drive Durango can zip from 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds. So you can go from a hair pulling day, to an exhilarating hair blowing in the wind kind of day with the entire family in tow! If you tell me you’re not impressed with that alone, you might be the problem, not the Durango.
Another announcement that we have been following for a little while is Dodge has been releasing sneak peeks or “Easter Eggs” on the recently announced 2018 Dodge Challenger Demon. A Challenger that is more bada**, more powerful and supposedly all around better than its rival The Dodge Challenger Hellcat. The Dodge Demon has not been officially revealed to the world yet, but it will be revealed in all it’s glory at the New York Auto Show coming up in April 2017. I can’t wrap my head around that there is a Dodge Challenger coming out that’s rumored to be faster than the already impressive 707-horsepower, and 650 pound-feet of torque Challenger Hellcat. How much horsepower will the Dodge Demon have? The most recent sneak peek that was released is the Dodge Demon will have “Air Grabber” cold air intake. The hood is the largest ever installed on a production vehicle, measuring more than 45 square-inches.
Like I said in my last Blog Post, the new Dodge Demon is going to blow the doors right off the Hellcat, making the Hellcat look like your average house cat.
Lastly, as Mopar rolls into it’s 80th Anniversary on the market, we were expecting some limited edition 80th Anniversary Edition swag to land in our Parts Department. WRONG! We got much much more than what we were anticipating. Today Mopar announced it’s celebration by offering not one, but two 2017 Dodge Challenger Mopar Special-Editions in limited quantities! Eighty of the Mopar Challengers will be painted in a blue color called Contusion Blue, with a Pitch Black hood, roof and trunk lid. The other Mopar Challenger will be painted a Billet Silver, again topped in Pitch Black just as it’s twin. The Special-Edition Mopar Challengers are pushed by the 6.4L, 392 Hemi Engine, producing an impressive 485 horsepower and 475 foot-pounds of torque all through a six-speed manual transmission. & by limited we mean only 80 of the Blue and 80 of the Silver will be sold! 160 Speical-Edition Challengers in the world vs 7 billion people.. Will you lucky enough to be one of the 160 people in the world to have one in your garage?
